What is Yummy Mummy Week?
Yummy Mummy is a national campaign that’s run by CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
This year Yummy Mummy week will take place between Saturday 6th March and Mothering Sunday on the 14th of March. Put simply, it’s fundraising events held by mums, for mums.
Click Sargent want you to get together with friends and family in Yummy Mummy Week and have fun whilst raising money for children with cancer.
This year Yummy Mummy marks its 5th birthday and to celebrate this occasion we have designed 5 different ways that you can get involved.
• Eat Yummy – dinner parties, cheese and wine nights, etc
• Feel Yummy – pampering evenings and girlie nights in
• Dress Yummy – ‘dress pink days’ at work, pyjama parties, etc
• Party Yummy – gala balls, house parties, garden parties, etc
• Go Yummy – welly walks, swims, cycles, etc
What will the money be used for?
Each week in Northern Ireland, 2 children or young people are diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia. CLIC Sargent acts as a lifeline to these children and their families providing social, emotional, practical and financial support. We do this through an extensive range of services which include a Youth Service, a Play Specialist programme, financial support to families and we also fund care professionals at both the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and the Belfast City Hospital.
By supporting this campaign you can help make a real difference to these young people and their families.
How can mums get involved?
It’s easy – just get together with some friends, decide what you’d like to do then register at www.yummymummy.org.uk. After you have registered we will send you a fundraising pack which contains balloons, posters, invites and lots more to make your event a success.
You can organise any event you can think of – no matter how much it raises, every penny counts – anything goes!
